Cumming Too Fast

Generally referred to as “cumming too fast”, the phrase defines, in fact, a medical condition reported to occur in approximately one man out of three, on a particular life stage. Healthcare practitioners name it premature ejaculation, with the mention that the word “premature” can have different meanings from one couple to another.

The main perceptions of this condition are the followings:

  • A man ejaculating before his partner reaches the climax in more than one half of his total sexual encounters – the definition gave by Masters and Johnson, two pioneers of human sexuality research; it can be controversial as different people have different responses to sexual stimulation and two partners may be incompatible while believing that the man ejaculates too fast
  • Recurrent or persistent ejaculation induced by a minimal previous sexual stimulation, shortly following the penetration and sooner than the persons involved whish for it to happen – the definition from the Diagnostic Statistical manual, which defines general terms, easy to interpret
  • Climaxing within the first two minutes of intercourse – one of the most common definitions, generally accepted by specialists

Analyzing the records, we should state that according to the renowned biologist Alfred Charles Kinsey, who also founded the Sex Research Institute from Indiana University in 1947, three quarters of men would ejaculate in the first two minutes in approximately 50% of their sexual experiences. However, his observations were made at the beginning of the 1940s and in the meantime the medical knowledge and the industry of male enhancement has developed to the point of helping men improve their performances a lot easier. Consequently, the doctor’s observations may not be 100% applicable to the present, even though they deserve appreciation.

Considerations on premature climaxing

The biological differences between men and women are already well known. While men can easily cum even after 3 minutes from the penetration, women need more stimulation and over 10 minutes to reach the peak of arousal.

All statistics left aside, premature ejaculation can manifest when having a new partner, when engaging into sexual activities after an abstinence period or even when having a normal sex life. Any man can experience this problem at some point as the reasons are numerous.

Guilt, anxiety or depression are known to have this particular consequence, with the mention that anxiety is one of the most dangerous psychological factors as it creates a vicious circle: anxiety leads to poor performance and vice versa.

Previously experiencing either erectile dysfunctions, which will make a man be worried of not performing as expected, or having relationship problems can also psychologically induce PE.

Among the biological causes, hormonal imbalances, thyroid problems, local infections and inflammations targeting the urethra or the prostate and abnormal levels of neurotransmitters were often reported. Very important, the neurotransmitters are affected by certain medications.

The necessity of treating and curing rapid ejaculation is justified for the fact that it does not only prevents the patient from being sexually active and having a normal love life, but it seriously perishes one’s self esteem. The negative consequences such as the stress, the frustration and even the tendency to avoid intimacy with the life partner can ruin a relationship and trigger other medical conditions.

What can you do?

Regardless whether you are convinced or just suspect dealing with this medical condition, it is advisable to discuss it with both your partner and a doctor. It is very important to fight the temptation of solving the problem on your own, which can translate into waiting for the problem to escalate and become even harder to treat.

If you only experience it occasionally, you can try the following strategies:

Fighting the anxiety

Anxiety can be translated through over excitement and arousal. If you have a normal and active sex life but you are still very enthusiast or even concerned with regards to sexual intercourse, try anything from meditation to imagery exercises. Reduce the stress from your sex life and spend time discussing with your partner about how the two of you feel.

If, on the contrary, you only have sex once in a while, performance anxiety has even more chances to occur, which is why constant practice should ease your stress.

Self pleasuring

Cumming too fast is one of the situations in which masturbation can make a difference, as it helps you better know your body. By getting close to climax and then suddenly interrupting the stimulation, you should be able, on one hand, to improve sexual stamina, and, on the other hand, to recognize the inevitable moment of the ejaculation. Consequently, you should be able to know when to reduce the intensity of stimulation during intercourse and prolong the act.

Working your pelvic muscles

It has already been proved that the workout routines for that muscle group can provide increased ejaculation control, stamina and the possibility of climaxing more than once without ejaculating.

In the same time, everything that helps with releasing the muscle tension can make a change, as the orgasm itself is nothing but muscular contractions releasing tension. The more relaxed you are prior to making love, the more chances you have to control the way you release the tension built up during intercourse.

Potential adjustments

The entire above defines long term strategies. However, there are specific details that can be applied, such as:

  • Changing the sex position into something that is less demanding, such as the female on top, the rear entry or the spooning
  • Using male enhancers to increase your performances and your overall resistance to long lasting intercourse
  • Taking prescribed psychotropic medications, known to delay ejaculation
  • Resorting to counseling from a sex therapist

The final observation imposed would be that as long as the patient is determined to overcome the problem and he follows the right combination of healing strategies, the situation can be improved within a few months. Professional help is always recommended.
