A genital herpes outbreak is an outbreak of a sexually transmitted disease. As the virus continues, the outbreaks will become less frequent and severe. Genital herpes and men can be managed very effectively with medications and precautions. A diagnosis of herpes does not have to mean the end of your sex life. However, it is important that safety precautions be used during sexual relations every time. Medications can lessen the severity of symptoms and even prevent outbreaks from occurring. Men should use precautions for every sexual encounter regardless of whether they have genital herpes or not. It is a condition that can be spread without either partner knowing that they are infected. This strengthens the case for safe sex practices every single time.
