Jelqing - Can It Help With A “Little” Problem?

Jelqing is a male enhancement treatment that is drawing increasing attention. Can it really help with a man's "little problem?"

For those who are unfamiliar with the term: Jelqing is a way to permanently maximize the size of the erect penis. A man wraps his index finger and thumb around his semi-erect penis then repeatedly pushes them toward the tip. This forces the blood into the glans and the corpus cavernosa of the penis.

Of course, as with any male enhancement product or procedure, there are many methods and products intended to help with Jelqing. There is also a lot of free information on Jelqing that can be found on line.

By forcing more blood into the penis, as the theory goes, the penis will get bigger. However, there is some debate as to whether this method really works. In addition, Jelqing is believed to be quite risky. For example, it is very possible to burst a blood vessel, which may result in an infection. There are also reports of temporary erectile dysfunction. At the very least it is important to start and stop the Jelqing session with a hot compress. If there are any problems, it is best to see a doctor.

Of course, there are many other methods to increase penis size and circumference, in addition to Jelqing. However, none of them are supported by scientific research and, according to Wikipedia, "no reputable medical society endorses penis enlargement surgery performed for purely cosmetic reasons." Before taking part in Jelqing, it is best to determine whether there really is a problem.

The average adult erect penis is between five and six inches long with many variances. In addition, a penis can look larger or smaller depending on several factors, including the amount of pubic hair and whether the person is overweight. Just as with anything else, getting a haircut and losing weight can help appearances. Despite the popular phrase, quite often for women, "size does not matter."

Jelqing is just one of many techniques out there for the age-old concern about penis size. Because Jelqing has not been proven to be successful, perhaps it would be best to learn other ways to use the penis before trying to build it up.
