Thinking of Male Enhancement Surgery
Are you thinking of getting male enhancement surgery? If you are, there are some surprising facts that you might want to know
before you start looking for a doctor to perform your phalloplasty. Surgical penis enlargement can be very successful, and it
is one of the few ways to really add permanent length to your penis. However, the long recovery time and the high cost of the
surgery are two factors that make very few men really consider this option.
How exactly does male enhancement surgery work? Basically, a doctor will release the ligaments that hold your penis to your
pubic bone. By cutting these suspensory ligaments, your penis will actually no longer arch. Instead, it will stick out at a
straighter angle when it’s erect. This makes it look longer. By cutting another ligament, the part of the penis that is
actually kept within the body will be able to pull away and stick out, adding some actual length to your penis.
All of this length is natural—nothing artificial is added to your body.
What makes this method dangerous is not actually the surgery but the healing process after it. While the suspensory
ligament is healing, the patient must do a number of penis stretches every day. Otherwise, the ligament can actually heal
shorter than it was before, leading the patient to actually having a smaller looking penis!
There is another type of male enhancement surgery called penile lengthening, but it is rarely done, and most surgeons will
not do this surgery just to increase a patient’s length. This is because there is a very high risk of becoming impotent,
even if the operation is successful. Generally, penile lengthening is only used as an attempted cure for erectile dysfunction.
Unlike male enhancement surgery, penile lengthening does actually involve adding to the penis using liposuction,
skin redistribution, and ligamentolysis. Again, however, most doctors will only perform this operation as a last resort
and not as a way of enhancing your length.
Overall, the length you can add to your penis using male enhancement surgery is only between 20 and 30 mm. This is a very
small amount and too many is not worth the money or the recovery time. In fact, more than half of the men who have had this
surgery were happy with it. Keep that in mind before going under the knife.
