How to Know When Your Testosterone Level is low

How do you know if you have a problem with your testosterone levels? The signs that you might have a problem include being depressed, fatigue, muscle loss, overall weight loss, and erectile dysfunction. Therefore, if you have these symptoms, you might want to take the time to look into your testosterone level.

While this may seem like a simple solution to your problem, you could find it difficult to find a doctor to order a test to check your testosterone. The reasons for a doctor’s hesitancy to run a testosterone level check vary, but most commonly doctors want to avoid this because low levels of testosterone are often a common side effect of someone who is infected with HIV.

Many people who have researched HIV have discovered that lower levels of testosterone are common in almost fifty percent of those who are living with the disease. However, if you suspect that your testosterone levels are not right, then you should insist that you have a test run so that you can start to get treatment for this problem.

In the past finding a supplement for your testosterone levels was a troublesome experience, but it is becoming easier and easier to accomplish this. In fact, there are many different ways that testosterone can be administered to a person who needs it, including injections to the muscle, gels that can be rubbed onto the skin, and patches that are also placed on the skin.

Each of these have different results. For example, if you were to get an injection, your testosterone levels would spike right after the shot was administered, but your levels would then continue to decrease until you received your next injection.

This could cause problems as your body is constantly fluctuating from the differing testosterone levels. The patches and gel formulations give a more consistent dose of testosterone, but they are often more expensive than the injections.

Ultimately it will be between you and your doctor to decide what is best for you, but finding a solution is important to these problems. Because of this you will want to make sure that if you are experiencing any problems or negative side effects that you go to your doctor immediately and discuss this with them so that you can get it under control.
